Dr. Van Eck, a director of NPC, is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of bipolar disorders and perinatal loss. She has extensive experience providing couple therapy with various marital issues.

Shaelyn T. Pham, PhD
Dr. Pham has extensive experience treating depression and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. Her special interests include working with survivors of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, as well as borderline personality disorder. She provides treatment based upon each patient's needs in the setting of individual, couple, family, or group therapy. Dr. Pham's years of hospital and clinical work has well equipped her to treat patients with difficult problems such as eating disorders, schizophrenia, drug and alcohol addiction, and self-injurious behavior. She takes a holistic approach to help her patients achieve self-awareness, to find psychological well-being, and to develop healthy relationships with others. Sara Said, PhD
Dr. Said is a clinical psychologist specializing in psychological assessment and in the diagnosis and treatment of trauma. She is well grounded in trauma-informed theories and therapies. Dr. Said integrates developmental/attachment perspective, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural orientations, resiliency and systems approaches in her provision of individual, couple, group and family therapies. She works actively and collaboratively with her clients of all ages who may enter therapy for a variety of distressing symptoms, discover for themselves their own truths. Dr. Said’s experience includes working in inpatient program for adolescents who have suffered severe and chronic trauma, including sexual, physical and emotional abuse. In addition, Dr. Said works with the non-profit organization Program for Torture Victims (PTV) where she provides psychological evaluation and psychotherapy to survivors of torture and serves as an expert witness in immigration court. Dr. Said is well versed in multicultural issues and has a keen awareness and sensitivity to diverse needs and values of minority groups.

 

 


Oscar Oo, Psy.D.
Dr. Oo is a clinical psychologist specializing in the area of disaster mental health and trauma.  He has participated in exclusive trainings and workshops provided by the partnership of the University of California, Davis and the Medical University of South Carolina in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and provides supervision in this specialty area to other mental health professionals.  Dr. Oo Also works with individuals and couples dealing with depression and anxiety to help them find healthy real-world solutions to improve daily functioning.

 

 

 


Heike Kholooci, PsyD
Dr. Kholooci is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of eating disturbances, LGBT and HIV/AIDS related concerns, and relationship difficulties. She works with individual adults, couples, and groups and focuses on an integrated mind-body perspective on health and illness. Dr. Kholooci has written in the area of mindfulness and its relationship to psychological wellbeing and specifically emphasizes its effects on one’s inner capacities for healing both body and mind. Ginny B. Liwanpo, PsyD
Dr. Liwanpo is a clinical psychologist who practices individual, child, and family therapy by using a collaborative approach that focuses on awareness of life patterns, builds on strengths, and develops new coping strategies. She specializes in working with young children, pre-teens, and families to address issues related to divorce and/or separation. Dr. Liwanpo has worked with patients that come from diverse backgrounds, and has extensive experience treating clinical symptoms of early childhood disorders, anxiety and depression stemming from chronic illness, abuse/trauma, substance abuse, as well as issues related to adjustments and/or transitions at different stages of life.

 

 

 


Ali Zandi, M.A.
Ali Zandi is Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a doctoral student attending Azusa Pacific University. He offers multiculturally sensitive individual, family, and couples counseling. Ali has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health clinics, schools, and university counseling centers. He has six years experience in treating disorders related to anxiety, depression, identity formation and relational difficulties. In addition to his work with adults, Ali specializes in the treatment of childhood and adolescent issues in conjunction with parental support. He provides clients a safe relationship in order to explore how past experiences may be negatively impacting current problem areas.
